Music for Worship

My music career started in church - with choral and children's music actually. I was living in Germany on retreat with the European Unitarian Universalists and the new UU Hymnal had just come out. I didn't know much choral music, but stepped up to co-lead a workshop on the material and we hosted a beautiful concerts at the end of the weekend. Later, in Media, PA, I can remember being asked to co-lead a children's worship session with another parent. We lead them in songs and played "Here Comes the Sun"!

It was several years later with friends from church someone set, let's start a band. Our first performance were at church, then in public, and then we returned to church for regular music for worship. There is nothing more cathartic than moving people's hearts, bringing the secular into the spiritual in a relatable way that touches our souls.

For worship services, The Jean Lenke Acoustic Worship Trio offers music to support the day's message, working closely the host ministry to create a holistic worship experience. With a selection of secular message music ranging from traditional to popular singer-songwriter to Jazz, the group is appropriate for any worship community that wants to move their congregation's music experiences in a new directions

"Music touches our spirits in mysterious ways. It's not good church unless people are crying".

     ~ Jean Lenke
